Comparative test Canon Pixma iP100 vs. HP Officejet H470: Ink cartridges
The Canon Pixma iP100 has a permanent print head, so the only consumables are two ink cartridges: PGI-35 and CLI-36. Both have a chip and an LED, same as the bigger printers (look here: Comparative Test: Eleven multifunction printers).
HP´s Officejet 470 comes with two types of cartridges; Low (Black Nr. 337 and Color Nr. 343) and high capacity (Black Nr. 338 and Color Nr. 344). The ones with low capacity are in the package you buy with the printer ([mark {[fett LU}]]).
When printing the B/W ISO-document with the Canon, it´s PGI-35 cartridge is empty after 191 pages. HP´s cartridge Nr. 338 has a yield of 500 pages. The test document has a rather marginal coverage with black, be aware of that when printing contracts or documents in your customers residence.

HP´s mobile can be tooled up with a photo ink or grey cartridge for better color and greyscale photos, actually nonessential for a mobile business printer.Only with HP´s mobile: Exchangeable waste ink tank
Printers need cleaning cycles of their cartridges to generate good prints. Wiper blades free the nozzles of leftover ink, in addition to that the nozzles are rinsed by ink. This ink has to go somewhere. It trickles to the bottom of the printer, where diaper-like wads absorb it.
Eventually the wads are full. The Canon stops printing, and your mobile printer has to see a service person for a fee. HP handles this easier for the customer: At the bottom of it´s Officejet H470 is a small box, which absorbs ink and can be easily exchanged.
It is called "Assembly K Spitton", and costs about 15 Euros.
Convenient: At the bottom is a slot for your business cards. So if you forget your printer after visiting a customer, he might call you.
