Test color laser HP Color Laserjet CP1215 and CP1515n: Quality and speed: Color print
We use 13 different files to test print speed and quality. On the following pages you find the most important ones.
DC test photo
DC-Farbfoto: dc_fotoyield.tif.To test photo quality we print a standardized TIF-file. It´s 11.627 KByte in size (2.362 x 3.307 pixels).
If you want to test your own printer, you can find a compressed JPG-version of this photo (see picture on the right side) in Testdokumente. You also may write your own review.
The photo is printed on normal copy paper, using the highest possible resolution.

Quality of color print
The prints show no recognizable raster if looked at from normal reading distance.
Quality of color print is sound, in this price segment excellent. There is not much of a difference between both printers, even though they are operating with different methods of color enhancement (CP1215: Imageret 2400, CP1515n: Imageret 3600). But resolution of the CP1515n seems to be somewhat smoother than the one displayed by the CP1215.

Gray print
Both printers in our test are able to print grays either by using black only (pictures upper row) or using all colors plus black (pictures bottom row).
Comparing both methods you will find the printouts in the upper row (using black toner only) more neutral than the ones below (composite gray).
Speed of color print
It takes both printers 48 seconds to print DC´s test document. Speed of print in this price segment ranges from 25 to 71 seconds.

With increasing time of printing during a more capacious print job both printers take short breaks, the CP1515n´s display shows messages like "Cleaning" or "Calibrating".
