My German is still not good enough so this goes in english.

Probably already asked..but could not find it in the historie of the forum.
I can only see the status of the inkt in the little screen of the pixma, and this not very detailled.
Where can i see it more detailled how much inkt is in the patronen?
I need to know because i learned from this site that the inkt is also cooling the printhead, so i should change patronen just in time, right?

The printer tells you when you have to change an empty ink catridge, so you don't have to worry about that (if you use Canon ink cartridges).

There is no way to become a more detailled information about the current ink status. If you want to see exactly, how much ink is left, you have to look into your printer - the ink cartridges are transparent.

Yes, the inkmonitor you mean knows only three stats.

1) full catridge
2) catridge nearly empty and
3) and empty.

The only way to see how many ink is in the catridge is the way Frank told you. The inkmonitor will tell you, if less ink is in the catridge and when the catridge is empty.

When the catridge is empty, the printer want print further an fully catridge is installed.

The inkmonitor only works with Genuine-Inkcatridges.

i'll guess the money saved on original cardridges (here in switserland prices for canon patronen are crazy)..i will spend on energy checking the status of my print-rite copycat patronen.
