Test Color laser Samsung CLP-310n: Consumables
Samsung presents the new models with a completely different set of toner cartridges. The toner containers of the previous series were tiny kegs (picture left side), now the models come with "normal" cartridges, however very flat (picture right side). Yield has not changed with the color cartridges, it´s 1.000 pages. The black cartridge´s yield dropped from 2.000 to 1.500 pages.

The CLP-310-models are available as CLP-315 (no network connection) and CLP-315W (with network connection and Wlan), otherwise nothing has changed except their color: It´s black. The price ranges from 200 to 250 Euros (MSRP).
The frontal access to the cartridges is easy (picture left side), an exchange no problem at all. But be carefull when handling the cartridges: The developer rollers are covered with toner (picture right side).
The first set of toner cartridges has a yield of 700 pages only according to ISO 19798
for the colors. Black toner has a yield of 1.000 pages according to ISO 19798.
Samsung offers the four cartridges as "Rainbow-Kit" or "Samsung CLP-P300C Toner Value Pack" for the CLP-300 models at a price of less than 120 Euros. We did not find this advantageous offer for the CLP-310/315 models.
Wearing parts
In addition to the consumables mentioned above there are other printer parts, which have to be exchanged after a certaín number of pages. They should be replaced by an authorized service contractor, says Samsung. Cost of parts and labor are not included in our calculation of cost of print.
