Canon reveals, how they test battery stamina: By continuous print of this ISO 24712-document. HP would not tell.
DC fully charged both (new) accumulators, followed by a print of this B/W-document: (siehe dc_leerdruck_5p.pdf). HP´s mobile stops printing, when battery charge is insufficient, Canon´s driver gives a warning and stops printing.
During this test, Canon´s ink cartridges had to be changed four times, with HP´s mobile just once.
Power consumption
We determine power consumption in stand-by-mode and with power switched-off. Even then the printers draw electric current, we call that apparent off.
Power consumption is stated in watts in the table below. Based on an electricity tariff of 19 €Cent per kWh we extrapolate the consumption for one year.
If you intend to test your own equipment like printer, PC, monitot, TV and so on, and do not plan to buy a measuring device, you can rent one here.
- Apparent off: The printer is switched off but connected to the power network.
- Standby: The printer is switched on - we determine power consumption after half an hour of idling.
