Epson has contacted this department with a support bulletin that addresses
problems with Epson Printers (C82/C84) and Multifunction printers
(CX5200/5400.)
In most cases, the printer will begin to print in poor quality. In spite of
performing normal head cleaning procedures per the user's manual, the print
quality will not improve. IF THE EPSON STATUS MONITOR SHOWS THE INK LEVELS
TO BE SUFFICIENT, the problem is likely due to a disconnected cap to pump
hose assembly. The result of this failure is that the print head becomes
clogged due to insufficient pressure to clean the nozzles properly.
If a printer from the models listed above, is experiencing this problem,
please send the printer to this department for repair. Only the models
listed above are affected by this particular problem.
This department wishes to thank Epson for their valued cooperation in the
support of their products. The level of support provided by Epson is
unmatched by any other computer product and comes at absolutely no cost to
the district.
