If you do want to have best photo quality you have to choose an inkjet printer.

In this comparsion you'll see some good laser printers (the best is in my opinion the Xerox 7800, but quite expensive), some of the worst lasers and one inkjet printer from Canon - you see the difference?

I have been comparing printers here and I narrowed it down to Canon Pixma MX925 and Epson Photo XP-860.

Which one prints the best photos in your opinion?

You just have the XP-760 in the compare tool, should I asume the quality from 960 to be the same than from 760?

The quality of all "Expression Photo" modells is the same and superior to the Canon, but much more expensive in running costs.

Including...

- Epson Expression Photo XP-55 (Single function)
- Epson Expression Photo XP-760 (Multi)
- Epson Expression Photo XP-860 (Fax-Multi)
- Epson Expression Photo XP-960 (Bypass-A3-Multi)

What about Epson Stylus Photo PX820FWD and 830FWD series? Better or worse than the Expresion Photo? Can't say watching the database pictures. Expression or Stylus for photo printing?

It's curious how the Canon, having more printing resolution, more inyectors and a smaller ink drop, loses against the Expression.

You mean "Epson Expression". These models should be comparable with the Canon Pixmas but used to be not as good in photo quality.

Epson Expression Photo has two light-density inks! The amout of nozzles is not comparable, cause of an different fire-frequency and Epson ability to fire different drop-sizes from one nozzle.

Ok, sorry to bother you with this yet, but I can't find the superiority of the Epson over the Canon in the pics, here:

Watching the eye there, the Epson seems to print horizontal lines, while the Canon doesn't. Are those lines visible when inspecting the picture close?

In the parrot, the Canon colors and contrast are closer to the original picture, even when the Epson looks more colorful, the original picture was not, and Epson loses some detail in the dark of the mouth.

Just here I can see the Epson superior, because the Canon looks too dark and misses details in dark zones, but the oposite happened in the parrot picture with the Epson losing detais due to been to dark.

... I find the 720 superior to the 760, with more definition, sharper, is that so? Whats the top for Epson photo quality, "Expression Photo" or "Expression Premium"?

we do not had the Epson Expression Photo XP-760 in Test, but we got Scans of the prints.

The main reason for the better quality is much less grain. In some cases it seems that printers with bigger dots and/or darker colors are sharper.

It is in most cases possible to extend the sharpnes.
