Workshop: How to replace waste ink sponges of Canon S- & i-models

Older Canon models, like S750, S600, S6300, S500, S300, S900, S630, i560, i550, i865, i965, and i9950, also have waste ink sponges. This workshop will show you, how to replace them.

Step 1: Open the printer

You begin by removing the printer´s top. To achieve that, take a slotted screwdriver and carefully press it into the places marked on the pictures below.

Printer´s top: Remove it.

To do that: Loosen the clips marked by arrows.

Slotted screwdriver: Press it into the holes.

Frontside: Case is easy to remove.

S750: Four clips, two on the left...

...and two on the right side.

After disconnecting the four clips you can lift off the top.

Now the interface cover can be easily removed.

Interface cover: Remove it,...

...it has no screws nor clips.
