Comparative Test: HP Officejet Pro 8500 vs.Samsung CLX-3175FW

This test compares two all-in-one devices which use different printing technologies: HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless AIO (with ink cartridges), costing round about 400 Euros, and Samsung CLX-3175FW (with toner cartridges) for about 500 Euros.

Print Speed: Copy Mode

In copy mode we find out a printer´s speed under optimal conditions. This speed is checked in B/W- and color-mode, the text document used is Dr-Grauert-Testbrief (ISO 10561).

DC-Test: ISO-10561 (Dr. Grauert).

Print speed in color is very slow with Samsungs CLX-3175FW, barely useful to do an effective office job.

HPs Officejet Pro 8500 prints a fast 21 pages per minute (ppm) in B/W and in color. Samsungs AIO achieves slower 16 ppm in B/W, with color the speed drops to a tardy 4 ppm.
