You pay a maximum of 500 Euros (and for one as little as 170). Prices are falling. Why buy an ink printer, when a color laser costs just a wee bit more? DC compares nine color laser printer in the price segment between 250 and 500 Euros.

Quality of Graphic-printing

Each contestant has to print a vector graphic in Coreldraw, A4 in size. The graphic contains various elements, which allow evaluation of print quality.

You can download a compressed JPG-version of this file in our download-area to check out your own equipment. You may also write and publish a review.

The file is printed in high quality mode on normal reprographic paper.

Quality of printing can be assessed by looking at the colored ray (pictures below). The earlier the single lines merge, the more inaccurate is the printout.

Below the ray you find numbers in 2 didot point-font size. You can see DC´s valuation of their printing quality at the bottom of this page.

Canon i-Sensys LBP5000: Good print with little moire effect.

Dell 1320c: Good print with pretty much moire effect.

HP Color Laserjet 1600: Fair printing quality.

HP Color Laserjet 2700: Good printing quality, but lines merge early.

Lexmark C500n: Barely sufficient print, lots of moire effects.

Lexmark C530dn: GutGood print of the ray.

Oki C3300N: 2 didot point-font very pale.

Samsung CLP-300: Lines merge early, 2 didot point-font grubby.

Xerox Phaser 6110: Pretty much moire effect, 2 didot point-font grubby.
